LAHORE:

National unity is the need of the hour to address challenges and achieve larger goals of development and progress in the country while incorporating the youth, said Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reform Ahsan Iqbal at the inauguration of the Youth Development Corps (YDC) at Punjab University.

Iqbal said the purpose of launching the YDC was to involve the youth in the mainstream of national development so that maximum advantage could be derived from their abilities.

He said the Planning Division of the federal government had devised similar plans for various universities of the country.

Citing Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif’s visit to the US, Iqbal said the premier and US President Barack Obama had decided to establish a Pak-American knowledge corridor.
