Healthy debate: UVAS hosts annual all-Pakistan bilingual declamation contest

In the Urdu category, Salman Afzal from the Punjab University, Lahore, was declared the winner

The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore hosted the All Pakistan Bilingual Declamation Contest 2015 on Friday, attracting participants from numerous universities.


Ali Hassan from the Bahauddin Zakaria University, Multan achieved first prize in the English category, whereas Muhammad Khan from the Community College Faisalabad was declared second. Ajwa Zulfiqar from Kinniard College Lahore came in third.

In the Urdu category, Salman Afzal from the Punjab University, Lahore, was declared the winner.

Zainul Hassan from Government College University, Lahore came in second and Shadab Khan from the Government College of Science third.

The team trophy was won by Punjab University, Lahore.

Chief guest Bina Jawad Khawja, wife of former chief justice Jawad S Khwaja, and UVAS Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha distributed prizes amongst the winners. Senior UVAS faculty members Prof Dr Kamran Ashraf and Asim Aslam were also present at the occasion.
