It was no surprise that as Imran Khan and Reham Khan announced their divorce the world took to social media to give their two cents on the short-lived marriage.

The hash tag #RehamKhan was trending worldwide on the second spot – and on the top spot in Pakistan.

Imran, Reham divorce with mutual consent

While some have been sensitive to the couple’s divorce on social media, others were not so forgiving.

Here’s a look at some tweets making the rounds on Twitter:

There were tweets of support:

As well as some advice for the road ahead:

Others weren’t so forgiving:

Then there were some rather strange ones, such as:

But that’s where we will stop, because:

Others were over it already:

But most felt like this, basically:

There were your regular funny ones:

Fake account, but worth a mention:

A moment of silence for this atrocity:

And lets round it up with this (fake account’s) tweet perfection:

While many had something or the other to say, all eyes were on one account: Jemima, Imran Khan’s first wife.
She did have something to say about falling for the ‘wrong one’:

Very sad for both of them. Good manners require that everybody else should register the facts but should keep their opinions to themselves (if they have opinions at all about this entirely personal matter).Recommend

This divorce is an important lesson for everyone esp. for women who are mad about him. The age difference between two and Reham’s ambitious nature are two real reasons of divorce. Only that woman can live with him who has no ambition and no physical demand. Recommend

The divorce between Imran Khan & ‪#‎RehamKhan‬ is a personal matter. We as nation need to learn how to respect others personal lives. Imran Khan is the man who never stops to inspire me.A true resilient man.Every time he sacrifices his personal life for his greater political cause and ideology.Pity for public that we are so blind to not see the truth.Every man makes mistakes, even he does, but not every man fixes his mistake but he does also.
Respect to Imran khan. May Allah SWT make it easier for him to move forward & specially for his Critics : Remember, He always come Stronger and he will Insha Allah Recommend

@ Adnan Siddiqi and Ch. Allah Daad:
Disagree with his politics but making fun like this? Don’t you fear same or worse can happened to you as well?

One matter what you 2 say, it is hands of Allah, he gives izzat to those he wants and he takes everything away everything from those he want.

It is sad but no matter what he is our national hero. He made Pakistan proud again and again. He is much much more trusted than any other Pakistani. On his one call people will give him millions be it for hospital, schools or Dharna. He has shown many times that he could do what all others said was impossible. Many people like you guys were there too laugh and make fun of him than. Today it the same. Was it being a fast bowler, be the best allrounder in the world, win the world, make SK hospital, make PTI a major part, make N University he did and he will do it again in sha Allah. Sad that those people who probably have achieved nothing in their life to make Pakistan a little proud are sitting here to comment on someone who gave everything he had and millions prayers of SK hospital patients, parents, family and 98% overseas Pakistan are with him. You continue your work and we will continue our support for him. Love Pakistan Love Imran KhanRecommend

leader has no personal life… if they are so worried about personal life better contest at home and become prime minister their, not to play with countries fate… A bad character leader will lead state to demise… Like what yahya khan did,, Alcoholic at the time of war, And whole country suffered…So its right to discuss every nitty gritty…Recommend

With regards to Imran khan, a public figure like him, his ‘life’ comes with the territory more so, if his recent ex did her utmost to project herself as ‘Jackie O’. Sorry, we can’t accept a FA pass with no aristocratic background as Pakistans darling!!! We Pakistanis may be a lot of things but will always have a soft corner for ‘class’ which this lady had none. It’s a no- no to accept diamonds from Aleem khan, a big no-no to accept 8 crore for personal projects, a big no-no to lie about your degrees, an even bigger no- no to act like ‘Diana’, trying to gain public affection. It doesn’t click with us. We would have been quiet if only this recent ex had slipped into the background and hiddenly did charity work. That’s the only way to gain respect. Oh yes and above all if she could learn not to display dirty laundry in public. Recommend

The private tv channels in Pakistan have cross all limits as they are making non-issue an issue just for their ratings. Similarly the divorce between Reham & Imran is their private issue and no one has the right to involve in a private life of any persons even a public figure like Imran. As no one knows about the real issues behind the whole episode and so-called anchors and analysts started their comments. PEMRA should barred media in creating hype among the masses, its not the first time that channels are selling their product (Chooran) in such a bad way, Shame on the way our tv channels are presenting issues which is none of their business. we should refrain from personal comments.
However it is a clash between two strong personalities.Imran needed a house wife. Reham was herself a goals and achievement oriented lady.Recommend
