QUETTA: While his two brothers are busy plotting more attacks on security forces, settlers and government installations in Balochistan, the tribal chieftain of Marri tribe, Nawab Jangez Marri, continues to convince militants to give up their armed struggle and become law abiding citizens by availing the amnesty offered by the government. On Thursday, at least 23 militants, including two commanders, of banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and Baloch United Army (UBA) surrendered before Nawab Jangaez Marri. BLA is headed by Hyrbiyar Marri and UBA by Mehran Marri, both real brothers of Jangez Marri. The militants were present at the residence of Nawab Jangez where he held a news conference to give details to the media. The commanders, Mir Jan Marri and Ramzan Marri were believed to be responsible for attacks on security forces and government installation. “The militants are willing to talk with us, but the slow implementation of Peaceful Balochistan Package ¬ offering facilities for the surrendering insurgents ¬ is affecting the peace process,” he said.
