SWABI:

Awami Jamhoori Ittehad Pakistan (AJIP) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s merger scheduled for November 1 has been delayed till November 22 due to the recent earthquake. During a press conference at Marghuz Town in Swabi, Minister for Health Shahram Tarakai said considering the earthquake has caused massive devastation and loss of life, Imran Khan’s visit on the occasion of the merger and his public address had to be delayed. They said Imran had suggested the delay himself. “PTI chief held a detailed meeting with Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and a few others in the provincial capital on Tuesday and floated the idea of delaying the scheduled programme,” said Tarakai. “On November 22, the merger of AJIP will be formalised at a public meeting in Karnal Sher village which will have many more supporters than those who stood for Imran at Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore three years ago,” Tarakai added.
