A civil judge on Tuesday extended the physical remand of a suspect allegedly involved in the suicide attack on Punjab Home Minister Shuja Khanzada for another 14 days. Qasim Muawiya, the suspect, is in custody of the counter-terrorism department (CTD) of the Punjab Police. Muawiya, a resident of Awanabad, Attock, is said to be associated with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. On Tuesday, he was produced before the court of Civil Judge Shahid Hameed. The CTD requested the court for a 28-day physical remand for interrogation of the suspect. The court, however, extended the remand for 14 days and adjourned the case till November 9.
