ISLAMABAD:
Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid on Monday paid tribute to Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal and how he had promoted the philosophy of Allama Muhammad Iqbal – materialised by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
Addressing a condolence reference for Justice Javed at Preston University on Monday, Rashid said that the former Supreme Court justice had a personality with many characteristics. Like his father Allama Iqbal, Justice Javed promoted the thought of freedom despite being educated in the West.
Justice Javed, son of Allama Iqbal, died on October 3, 2015 at the age of 91.
“[Justice] Javed promoted the writings of his father and gave practical shape to his (Allam Iqbal’s) message of mankind’s welfare and well-being.”
Recalling his close association with Justice Javed, Rashid said he was a good human being, a patriot and a good Muslim.
The minister also distributed shields among those who addressed the condolence reference.
