Misappropriated funds: Former TFO arrested on corruption charges

The anti-corruption establishment (ACE) Jacobabad arrested on Monday the former taluka finance officer (TFO) of the Thull Town Committee on charges of corruption in development works worth Rs130 million.

Following complaints of massive corruption by the former officer of the Thull Town Committee, Amanullah Abro, an ACE team conducted a raid in Kandhkot and arrested the accused.

ACE Jacobabad circle officer Inayat Hussain Shah confirmed the arrest and said that besides arresting Abro, they had also seized records pertaining to development works from 2005. He said that the officer was posted as TO finance of the Thull Town Committee from 2005 to 2009 and once again in 2010, but was transferred after a couple of months.

"We are going through the records of the development works carried out during his tenure and it has been revealed that the officer was involved in the misappropriation of Rs130 million," said Shah.
