PM Nawaz informs John Kerry about India's destabilising role in Pakistan

Three dossiers containing evidence of Indian involvement in subversive activities were handed over to the US side

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif shared with the US Secretary of State John Kerry on Wednesday information on India's destabilising role in FATA, Balochistan and Karachi during a meeting in Washington.

Three separate dossiers containing evidence of the Indian involvement in subversive activities were handed over to the US side, said a statement released by the prime minister house.

PM Nawaz is on a four-day official visit to the United States where he was called on by Kerry at the Blair House.

The prime minister informed the US delegation about his peace initiative, which he also explained in the recent session of the UN General Assembly, for a peaceful South Asia.

Both the sides recalled their long and cordial interaction over the years, and took stock of recent developments in the relationship, stressing the need for continued high level engagements on all issues of mutual interests.

Nawaz also briefed Kerry on the important milestones achieved by the government in last two years, especially in the economy and internal security domain.

Secretary Kerry assured the prime minister of the continued US cooperation to further enhance economic engagement between the two countries.

The meeting reached an agreement that terrorism posed a common challenge to the regional and global security, while reaffirming their resolve to counter this challenge.

Zarb-e-Azb achieved desired results

PM Nawaz also informed the secretary of state that the ongoing military operation Zarb-e-Azab as well as the National Action Plan were achieving the desired results in improving internal security and eliminating the menace of terrorism from Pakistan.

It was pointed out that the incidents of terrorism in Pakistan had significantly reduced in recent weeks.

Kerry commended the significant gains achieved by Operation Zarb-e-Azb, which have decimated the terrorist organisations in the region.

The prime minister was flanked by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar and Water and Power Minister Khawaja Asif, among others.

Wow | 8 years ago | Reply Great! So what was Kerry's response? I understand US State Department personnel have not stopped rolling with laughter. They have to deal with so many serious issues, so they do need a good dose of comedy. Thanks for helping our diplomats by providing some light moments.
