Social media was abuzz with talk of football stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi once again, but this time the stir was not caused by the number of goals but a backstage conversation caught on video between Ronaldo’s young son and his mom.

The video recorded after Ronaldo collected his fourth Golden Boot award shows his mother and son discussing the Real Madrid star’s greatest rival, Lionel Messi, who plays for Barcelona.

Ronaldo’s son seems to ask how many FIFA Ballon d’Or awards and Golden Boots Messi’s won. However, Ronaldo’s mother isn’t having it.

“I don’t want to know about Messi,” she says, and continues to list off her son’s achievements instead.

The video was reportedly recorded during the Real Madrid star’s Golden Shoe presentation ceremony on Tuesday.

However, Roanldo Jr’s fascination with the Barcelona star is nothing new. Earlier, Jr was also seen starstruck by Messi during January's Ballon d'Or ceremony. Backstage at this year’s ceremony for the Ballon d’Or, which Ronaldo beat out Messi for, Ronaldo’s son actually met Messi and the two had an adorable exchange.

Though we don't think his son's fascination with Messi has Ronaldo bothered, we definitely know he is irked by the fact that his son wants to be a goalkeeper.

In the movie trailer, Jr tells Cristiano that he wants to be a goalkeeper and his dad's reaction is priceless - "Are you joking?"
