KARACHI: An immigration consultant, Muhammad Waleed, told the police that he was released after being kidnapped for nearly 20 minutes, on Thursday. Waleed, who is a resident of Mehmoodabad, told the police that three men, out of the five armed men on two motorcycles, broke into his car when he was at a traffic signal in Defence. He claimed that the men held him hostage, asked him to continue driving, and demanded ransom money from him. Upon his refusal, they stabbed him with a knife and after nearly 20 minutes, they escaped along with his Rs200,000 and nearly a dozen passports that he had. No case has been registered yet.
