Two children killed over land dispute

Darya Khan Khoso, along with his family, was on a motorcycle on the way to Thull for his children’s medical treatment

SUKKUR: Two children were killed and their father and grandmother injured when armed men opened fire on a motorcycle near Khan Laro situated in the Bahoo Khoso police limits, near Thull in district Jacobabad, on Wednesday.

Darya Khan Khoso, a resident of village Dur Muhammad Khoso, along with his mother, Shahzadi, and children, six-year-old Shazia and five-year-old Jameel, was on a motorcycle on the way to Thull for his children’s medical treatment. When his motorcycle approached Khan Laro, a group of armed men who were hiding behind bushes opened fire on them.

As a result, both children were killed on the spot while Darya Khan and his mother suffered bullet injuries. The assailants managed to escape. The police shifted the bodies and injured to a Thull hospital but no case was registered till the filing of this report. Thull-based journalists claimed that the attack was the result of a two-year-old land dispute between two groups of the Khoso tribe.
