When Ajay Devgn extended his support to Indian political party BJP candidates in Bihar, little did he know that he would fall victim to the crowd's fury.

The Singham actor was in Lakhisarai to vouch for BJP in the forthcoming elections. During the political rally on Friday, Ajay was spotted in a vehicle with the party workers waving to a large number of supporters.

But things got out of control when an unidentified person hurled a shoe at the Bollywood actor, reports DNA.

Here, take a look:

Ajay escaped unhurt but had to cancel his four-town tour. He flew back to Mumbai in a chopper before he could deliver his prepared speech.

“It was wrong of them to ask Ajay to campaign for the Bihar elections. Ajay is not an orator. Nor is he comfortable with public interaction. What does he know about Bihar’s politics?" a BJP source was quoted as saying to DNA India.

"One can’t just persuade stars to stand up and recommend candidates like that. It is unfair to them," the source added.
