KARACHI: A Lyari Development Authority (LDA) team and the police faced resistance on Monday morning by the people residing in Hawke’s Bay where an illegal poultry farm was being bulldozed. The residents shouted slogans against the LDA team and blocked the main road. The LDA anti-encroachment team along with the police demolished several illegal occupied plots in Hawke’s Bay Scheme 42 and Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Town. Anti-encroachment department director Shahid Hasan said that legal action will be taken against the factory owner and others involved in attacking the team. The LDA officials said that several plots have been occupied by land mafia.
