FAISALABAD: Two children were assaulted in Faisalabad on Saturday.

Muhammad Rafiq, a resident of Jaranwala, said his 13-year-old niece was walking to their farm when she was abducted by a neighbour.

“He raped her in the field and fled,” Rafiq said. He said some farmers had found her and brought her home. He said she had been taken to a hospital where doctors later said her condition was stable.

The Jaranwala SHO said police had registered an FIR on Rafiq’s complaint.

He said a team had been formed to arrest the suspect.

He said the complainant had been advised to get a medical examination and submit medico-legal report.

Separately, a 12-year-old boy was assaulted by two youths near Jaranwala Saddar police station.

Shaukat Ali, his uncle, told The Express Tribune the boy was returning home from a market when two youths intercepted him.

“They overpowered the boy and took him to a deserted house where they assaulted him,” Ali said.

“When my nephew resisted, they beat him until he passed out,” Ali said.

He said the boys had abandoned his nephew in front of his house and fled.

“We took him to a hospital,” he said.

The Jaranwala Saddar SHO said police had registered an FIR on Ali’s complaint.

He said a team had been formed to apprehend the suspects.
