De Gea thinks summer transfer fiasco a 'learning experience’

The Spaniard assured fans that he has moved forward and learned from the recent transfer debacle

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea claims that failure to switch to Real Madrid amid summer transfer window has provided him with an opportunity to grow.

De Gea was set for switching spots with Real keeper Keylor Navas, however the transfer papers were not funneled in time before the Spanish transfer window shut last month.

Since then, the Spanish international has signed a new four-year deal with the English giants, hoping to regain the trust of manager Louis van Gaal.

The Spaniard pledged to move forward and learn from the recent transfer debacle, upholding his commitment level on the training pitch.

"I am a guy who likes to put the bad things and difficult times behind me," De Gea was quoted as telling Canal Plus.

"I had a lot of tough times and I know what it is. We must move forward, working equally and always strong.

"It's a learning process that gives football hard moments but that make you mature and grow. These are things that you learn in the world of football. You have to keep working and try to improve in every training session," he added, quoted by Goal.com.
