Film-maker Rajkumar Hirani revealed that a third instalment of Munna Bhai is in the pipeline.
One of most iconic characters in Hindi cinema's history -- Munna Bhai -- is back with his trademark jadu ki jhappi!
According to Hindustan Times, filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani has revealed that a third instalment of Munna Bhai is in the pipeline. And we're thrilled to know that Sanjay Dutt will be reprising the role of Munna Bhai.
“I am writing a script for Munna Bhai 3. Sanju will star in it, and will play his age. I spoke to him [about the film when he came out on parole recently], and he was very excited," said the director.

Hirani is also working on Sanjay's biopic which will star Ranbir Kapoor. But that's not it. The ace director has two more projects lined up.
"I have a couple of ideas, so I am writing two more scripts besides Sanju’s biopic. While one is a Munna Bhai film, there’s also another new story," he added.
We wonder if it will be a smashing success like Munna Bhai MBBS (2003) or Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006) but Hirani is confident as he says the third part of the popular film series will be even better.
“Now, I have found a story that is as good as Lage Raho Munna Bhai, or maybe even better," he said.
There were rumours a few years ago that the third installment will see the much-loved duo -- Munna Bhai and Ciruit -- heading off to the US. However, the director hasn't confirmed any such news.

"I wasn’t doing it (the third part) because I hadn’t found anything that matched that level. However, now I have found it, but it will take some time to write it. I plan to take it up after wrapping up Sanju’s biopic," said the director.
