The Schools Education Department has suspended the principal of Jalalpur Peerwala Government Middle School who was charged with raping a grade four student.

The Education Department has also ordered the school administration to move 25 girls of the school to an all-girls campus.

A three-member team of the Education Department compiled a report of the incident and sent it to the schools secretary.

An FIR had been registered against the headmaster at Jalalpur Saddar police station. Parents of the student said the headmaster had assaulted their daughter several times.

Later, Schools Education Secretary Abdul Jabbar Shaheen had constituted a team comprising Deputy Secretary (elementary) Mehar Mushtaq Seyal, Executive District Officer Ashfaq Gujjar and Education District Ramazan Anjum to probe the case. Seyal also visited the school in Jalalpur Peerwala. Several parents had protested against the headmaster on the occasion.
