PESHAWAR:

Awami National Party dismissed the basic membership of district councillor Abdul Tawab Khan from Karak on Saturday. Tawab Khan has been accused of violating party policy in district council elections.

According to ANP Provincial General Secretary Sardar Hussain Babak, Tawab Khan voted against party policy in district council elections and failed to provide an explanation for his action. “There can be no justification for defiant members who violate party principles,” he said.

Babak also said Tawab Khan’s disqualification notification would be sent to district naib nazim and the election commission for further action.

He added ANP strictly adhered to the principle of punishments and rewards, and those who violated party policies had no place in ANP. “This criterion of penalty will further strengthen the party as consistency will be maintained,” he said.
