
The unanimous agreement was made at the annual coordination meeting of the OIC foreign ministers in New York on Saturday, with adviser to PM on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz representing Pakistan.
Underlining the significance of OIC as an effective platform to address the issues being faced by the Muslims, Aziz said it can play a pivotal role in resolving the disputes of Palestine, Jammu and Kashmir, Rohingya Muslims, Cyprus and Nagorno-Karabakh.
He reminded the forum Kashmir was one of the long-standing international disputes waiting to be resolved at the UN forum.

The adviser particularly mentioned the Palestine issue, reaffirmed Pakistan’s support and termed it a legitimate struggle to recover their territories occupied by Israeli forces.
He also condemned the recent Israeli attack on the al Aqsa mosque compound, urging the UN to act against Israeli desecration of the Muslim holy site.
