RAWALPINDI:

The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) along with the local administration on Tuesday held a consultation meeting to continue action against the sale of unhygienic food items.

“The administration will continue its drive against hotels, meat shops, bakers and other outlets serving unhygienic and substandard food items,” said Rawalpindi Additional Deputy Commissioner Arif Rahim in a meeting with RCCI president. It was also attended by owners of different shops and restaurants.

RCCI President Syed Asad Mashadi asked the administration to change the way the raids were conducted.

“It has damaged the image of traders who established their businesses,” he said.
