The cop-car chase film and Universal's biggest franchise, Fast & Furious is coming to an end.

On his Facebook status, Hollywood actor Vin Diesel announced that the action-packed series will be coming to a close. To mark the end, Universal has decided to make three new films of the Fast & Furious series, however, this trilogy will mark the end of the franchise.

He posted an image with the caption: “Fans of the Fast & Furious SAGA are the best fans in the world... Universal has been so good to me and so trusting of the vision... they have been like family... I promised the studio I would deliver one last Trilogy to end the saga.”

Diesel, who is also the producer and plays the character of Dominic Toretto in the series, said Universal has approved the trilogy. However, they don’t have a director yet as James Wan, who directed Furious 7, has refused to return despite the massive worldwide success of the film. Diesel also added that he will not be directing the trilogy himself.

Actors Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham and Michelle Rodriguez will be seen again in Furious 8.
