Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Monday directed all DCOs to set up counters in their respective districts for providing information about missing hajis. “After receiving any information, the institutions concerned should immediately contact the families of hajis. The federal government will be requested for financial assistance for the families of hajis who have lost their lives,” he said.

He said that Rs150 billion had been allocated for the Khadim-i-Punjab Rural Roads Programme.
“Sit-ins last year caused a huge loss to the economy and hindered the process of development. The elements which wasted the precious time of the nation did not care about national interest or welfare of the common man,” he said.
He said that the PML-N government had restarted the process of national development with a new determination.
The CM said that the government was focusing on infrastructure development and provision of basic amenities to the people.
“A culture of merit, transparency and speedy completion of development projects has been introduced in the province. Billions of rupees is being spent on the welfare of the people. Projects aimed at provision of education, health and other basic facilities to the masses are a priority.
