Mistaken for a gang : Cops kill 8 buffaloes, injure a shepherd
Doctors treating Ahmad said his condition was critical
DERA GHAZI KHAN:
A shepherd was injured and eight buffalos were killed during ‘accidental’ firing by the police on Sunday. The victim’s father Muhammad Afzal, a resident of Muhammadpura, Jampur tehsil, said Farooq Ahmad and some of his friends had taken their cattle out for grazing when some policemen, dressed in plainclothes, opened fire at them. He said the police had suspected they were members of the Chotu Gang. He said his son had received three bullet wounds in his arms and chest and was taken to the teaching hospital in Dera Ghazi Khan. Eight of the buffaloes they were herding were killed. Doctors treating Ahmad said his condition was critical. Afzal has requested Dera Ghazi Khan RPO Rehmatullah Niazi to take notice of the incident and take action against the trigger-happy cops.
