Tis the season: 44 points designated to collect hides of animals

Seven hide collection points have been set up in Medina Town at the Wapda Office near the Jhumra Road graveyard

The district government has designated 44 points in the city where religious organisations and NGOs, barring offshoots of some proscribed organisations, can collect hides of sacrificial animals.


A spokesperson for the administration told journalists on Thursday that eight hides’ collection points had been set up in Lyallpur Town on Eid Gah Road in front of Aminpur Bazaar, Sheikhupura Road in front of Crescent School Ground, Sargodha Road near Bawa Chak Sewerage Drain, Millat Road near Star Petroleum and CNG, a site near Darbar Baba Qaim Sain in front of a graveyard, Riaz Shahid Chowk near the WASA Office, Punj Pulli Road near the Honda Showroom and Chandni Chowk near MC Boys High School Islam Nagar.

He said seven hides’ collection points had been set up in Iqbal Town at Muhammadi Chowk Hilal Road near the WASA Disposal, at Iron Market near the Government College for Women, WAA Ware House near Novelty Bridge, Mumtaz Garden Gulshan-i-Rafiq Rodex Road, Stop 5 Hilal Road 224 Wazir Khan Wali, Tenkiwala Chowk, Mandi Quarter and a site in front of the Samanabad Sports Complex.

Seven hide collection points have been set up in Medina Town at the Wapda Office near the Jhumra Road graveyard, in a plot in front of Chenab Fabrics Nishatabad, Saeed Colony 1 near the Medina Town graveyard, the Punjab College on Jaranwala Road in front of Green Belt, Green Belt near Faisal School at Faizan-i-Medina Chowk, Jaranwala Road in front of Jalvi Market and Rachna Town 1, Satiana Road.

He said 13 hide collection points had been set up in Jinnah Town in a vacant plot in front of Office 15, Chohar Majra Chowk, in a plot in front of MI Middle School near Lal Dispensary, Gulberg, at the Saif Abad Stop on Service Road, Jhang Road, in a plot in front of MC High School for Boys Ghulam Muhammad Abad, at Union Council 280, at a site near the Kamal Abad graveyard, Chatriwala Chowk Jinnah Colony and a site in Ghulam Muhammad Abad in front of the Dera Sain graveyard.

Six hide collection points have been established in Jaranwala Town at the old Tonga Stand near the TMA Office, at the Slaughter House in Jaranwala, at a site near the Khurarianwala Sewerage Drain on Jaranwala Road and at the Veterinary Hospital in Khurarianwala.

Three hide collection points have been set up in Samundri Town at the Tonga Stand on Gojra Road Samundri, in a plot near Chungi Faisalabad Road and at a plot in front of Lady Park.

The spokesperson said three points had been established in Tandlianwala Town at the Hockey Ground on Canal Road, at the Railway Ground in Mamu Kanjan and at Jalla Chowk near Sabzi Mandi.
