Thieves took away cash, foreign currency, cell phones, jewellery and valuables from cricketer Sohaib Maqsood’s home in Nasheman Colony of Multan in the early hours of Thursday.
Maqsood, a promising batsman, has left for Zimbabwe with the national team. His house was looted when other family members were out shopping for Eid.
Police have registered a case and started investigations. According to SHO Bahauddin Zakariya police station, the family of Sohaib Maqsood had gone to market for shopping at night when the thieves burgled his house and decamped with four tolas of gold ornaments, Rs50,000 in cash, watches and mobile phones. Family members told the police that when the returned home around midnight, the door lock was broken and the home had been ransacked.
The burglars took their time in checking every wardrobe, suitcase, drawer and cabinet, they said lamenting loss of hard-earned money.
