In a shocking incident that has once again highlighted the fragile law and order situation in Balochistan, unidentified armed men opened indiscriminate fire on a group of picnickers in the Nal area of Khuzdar district, killing three people on the spot and injuring two others.
The attack occurred when the victims, residents of the nearby Wadh town, had gone to the scenic Harnbo Dam for a leisurely outing. What was meant to be a moment of joy and relaxation turned deadly as the assailants unleashed gunfire without any apparent provocation, according to police sources.
Among those killed was Miloo Mal, a well-known Hindu trader from the area who was widely recognized for his business activities and community standing. The other two deceased individuals were identified as Abdul Rashid and Abdul Saboor.
The two injured persons were rushed to a nearby hospital, where their condition is said to be critical.
Police immediately cordoned off the scene and launched an investigation, including on-site examination and search operations to apprehend the perpetrators. Authorities stated that probes are underway to determine the motive and nature of the attack.
The incident has spread fear and anxiety among local residents, who are demanding immediate restoration of peace and security in the region. It serves as a grim reminder that even simple recreational activities can be shattered by sudden violence in parts of Balochistan.
