Encounter: Wanted criminal killed

LAKKI MARWAT: A proclaimed offender, who had escaped from Bannu prison, was allegedly killed during an encounter on the outskirts of Lakki Marwat on Wednesday. A police official said the DPO received a tip-off about wanted criminal Gul Rauf, a resident of Takhti Khel village. After receiving the information, Shaheed Asmatullah Khan police SHO Ayaz Khan carried out a raid. Upon being cornerned, Rauf fired upon the police and was gunned down during retaliatory fire. The government had set a head money of Rs2 million on the offender. He was involved in the killing of a policeman, Kaleemullah, and many other cases.
