ISLAMABAD: To facilitate those seeking driving licences, the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) is set to launch a one-window operation in the coming days. SSP Traffic Malik Matloob Ahmed on Tuesday said the facility will help enable citizens to complete bank payments, NADRA verification, data entry and medical certification services on one counter. The new facility is expected to have a total of 12 counters, along with two specifically for medical tests. Separate counters for women and senior citizens have also been allocated, the SSP said. ITP deals with about 400 driving license seekers everyday. The new one-window operation is expected to end long queues and accelerate application processing times. Matloob said the new system will contain three steps: queues management, one-window and driving test board. He said the project was completed with the help of the corporate sector at a cost of over Rs10 million.
