LAHORE: A consumer court on Saturday issued a notice to a furniture retailer for selling a poor quality sofa. Petitioner Ayesha Zahoor has sought Rs100,000 in damages from Ganj Shakar Furniture House. She informed the court that she had brought the sofa for Rs11,250 from proprietor Shaukat Ali. “He promised me that the sofa was of good quality and gave me a warrantee of six years. However, the sofa started sagging after two weeks,” she said. The petitioner said that she complained to Ali about the problem. However, she said, the respondent did not replace the sofa.
