On the directions of Saira Afzal Tarar, the minister for health services, a team of Drug Regulatory Authority inspectors conducted surprise raids on pharmacies in Chak Shahzad.
During the inspection, a locally made tablet was found being sold at a higher-than-approved price, and the available stock was seized.
Samples were also taken from various medicines and legal proceedings have been initiated after receiving results from the central drug laboratory in Karachi.
