NAB chief visits site of new HQ

The chairman also said there will be no compromise on the quality of materials or construction work

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry visited the under construction site of the office building for NAB Headquarters in Sector G-5/1.


He reviewed the physical progress made on the ground and inspected the quality of construction work at the site.

In a briefing given by the directors-general of NAB headquarters, the country’s public works department and various consultants, the chairman was apprised of the developments at the site.

The structure of the basement, lower ground, ground, and first four floors have been completed as per schedule. Brickwork and pouring have been completed on certain floors. Meanwhile work related to masonry, plastering, glass, artificial granite, underground water interception, aluminium foil, electrification and PCC (procurement, construction and commissioning) is under way.

Chaudhry directed all for the timely completion of the fifth floor of the building along with electrification, procurement of lifts, enacting safety measures, completing the boundary wall and so forth. He also stressed on ensuring quality standards in line with rules laid down by the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA).

The chairman also said there will be no compromise on the quality of materials or construction work, and that all code-related formalities in tendering for the remaining work must be completed in a transparent manner.
