ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Wednesday clubbed a Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader’s petitions pertaining to the resignations of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) legislators. Appearing before a three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, former senator and PML-N leader Zafar Ali Shah prayed that his petitions pertaining to the two opposition party lawmakers’ resignations be clubbed. Shah, in his petitions filed earlier, had requested the court to order the federal and Sindh governments, the prime minister, National Assembly Speaker, leader of opposition and the Senate chairman to accept the PTI and MQM lawmakers’ resignations. The court accepted his plea and issued notices to the NA speaker, Senate chairman and MQM parliamentarians. The case has been adjourned for an indefinite period.
