LAHORE: An additional district and sessions judge on Wednesday sought comments from the Hanjerwal SHO in connection with a petition seeking the registration of a case against a gang accused of prostituting women.

Petitioner Salamat Ali said his daughter had married Heera in Rawalpindi. Ali said he had come to know that he used to regularly beat his daughter for refusing to engage in the trade. He said she said also told him that Heera was married to another three women. Ali said his son-in-law had also been forcing them to engage in prostitution much to their chagrin. The petitioner said some of Heera’s friends were also involved in the business of prostituting women after marrying them. Ali said he had earlier approached the police in vain. He asked the court to direct the Hanjerwal SHO to register a case against Heera and his friends.
