Rescue 1122 marks World First Aid Day

Calls for providing quality education in districts on the periphery

Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) marked World First Aid Day by providing emergency cover to thousands of affectees of flood-hit areas in all districts of Punjab.


It may be noted that members of Community Emergency Response Teams and volunteers trained by Rescue 1122 were an integral part of recent flood search and rescue operation, said a press release.

PES Director Dr Arshad Zia said basic purpose of the day was to educate the community about first aid training and skills. He said thousands of public schools and colleges have received training of emergency evacuation across the province. Likewise, thousands of community members from all districts were trained in life saving measures whereas over 50,000 volunteers are also attached with the service.
