LAHORE:

An audit of Nandipur Power Project, Quaid-i-Azam Solar Park and Sahiwal coal power projects should be carried out by Pakistan Army and Rangers, says an adjournment motion submitted by Leader of Opposition Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed and Deputy Leader Sibtain Khan in the Punjab Assembly secretariat on Thursday.

The motion says that the audit would reveal corruption in the Nandipur Power Project. Rashid said the cabinet had taken notice of the corruption in the project a year ago and recently, the prime minister had pointed out delays in the project. He said nothing had been done about it. He said Pakistan Army and Rangers should be called in for an audit.

He also submitted a resolution seeking a notification accepting demands of the All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA) on promotions and salary raises. The resolution says the agreements reached between the APCA and the law minister in March and June should be implemented in letter and spirit. It said their salaries should be raised and a promotion schedule like other provinces be devised.

A resolution submitted by the deputy leader of opposition calls on the government to set up a public service commission for south Punjab.

Khan also submitted a resolution seeking installation of CCTV in hotel, restaurant and marriage hall kitchens across the province to ascertain that food is prepared in accordance with hygiene standards.

Khan also called for a debate on roads blockades due to protests across the city.
