KARACHI:
Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has once again defended the new aviation policy 2015, saying it was aimed at creating jobs, boosting exports and generating revenue for the government.
The CAA will earn revenue either in shape of the annual fee structure or through appropriate quality partnership models, the authority said in a statement. It added that all relevant stakeholders were taken onboard when aviation policy was being formulated.
The policy envisages public-private partnership models to improve quality of service and airport’s terminal side may be outsourced to world class operators, it said. CAA stressed that airports in Pakistan would always be government owned and will continue to remain property of the state, except those which are privately developed.
