KARACHI: Pakistan Disabled Cricket Team (PDCT) are set to face England Disability Cricket Team in the final match of the Five-nation ICRC International T20 Cricket Tournament at the BKSP Cricket Stadium in Savar, Dhaka on Thursday.

Both sides have played four matches and won two each prior to reaching their final hurdle; however, Pakistan edged ahead due to a higher run-rate.

In their last T20 and ODI series against England in 2014, Pakistan won both the series in Dubai 2-1, with skipper Major (retd) Hasnain Alam being the highest scorer for the team with 245 runs from six matches, while Fayyaz Ahmed topped with 12 wickets in six matches.

The most recent encounter between them was on the third day of the ongoing tournament during which Pakistan lost to England by eight runs.

Despite the loss, Alam is confident they can dismiss England’s key players like Alex Hammond and Callum Flynn though he added that Jimmy Williams would be a hard nut to crack. “We did make quite a few mistakes in the match against England, especially in our fielding. We have analysed our performance with our coaches and video analyst and have worked to correct these errors,” Alam told The Express Tribune.

“We have also discussed how to overcome key players from the opposition side and will do our best to dismiss them. All the players are well-prepared and have the passion to win the final.”
