Anthony Martial joined Manchester United on transfer deadline day from AS Monaco in a huge £58 million move, making him the most expensive youngster in world football.

The huge price tag has earned great scrutiny from critics and has put him under immense pressure to justify the price paid for him. But Anthony Martial is not short of support, and has been backed by his compatriots to succeed.

Louis Saha, a former Manchester United and France national team player, believes that the 19-year-old has the ability to emulate Thierry Henry in the Premier League.

"He's got that speed, that power, he's got that youth in him so he'll surprise a lot of defenders because they don't know him," said Saha, as quoted by Goal.com.

"It's a great asset for Manchester United and that's what they needed because up front they lack speed sometimes.”

Saha insists that Martial’s speed will catch the Premier League defenders by surprise, and he will greatly improve under Louis Van Gaal.

"In France we call him the next Thierry Henry because he can play left or right, he's got a great ability with the ball, he can take on three, four players with ease, there is no problem. At the same time, the new generation has no fear.

"He's got such an ability that he can win trophies for Manchester United I believe that, but I don't want to put too much pressure on him."

However, Saha believes that the new signing will need time to settle in and has the ability to become a champion with Manchester United once he gets going.
