District nazim Haji Maghfirat Shah said delays in completion of development projects and the use of substandard materials would not be tolerated.
Speaking at a ceremony in Chitral on Saturday, Shah said, “We are preparing a strategy for timely completion of development schemes.” The event was put together in connection with the completion of Chitral Bypass Road.
The Chitral nazim said these are the efforts of sitting lawmakers and previous rulers that the residents of the district will no more witness gridlocks.
During his address, MPA Mohammad Salim Khan appreciated former chief minister Amir Haider Khan Hoti who had sanctioned the construction of the road.
Earlier, Executive Engineer Maqbool Azam briefed the participants over the project. He said the three-and-a-half kilometre road has been constructed in two phases. The first phase has been completed while the second will be done by the next fiscal year, he added. Azam said the government is spending Rs0.78 billion on the megaproject.
