The Sindh government on Friday announced a two-day ban on pillion riding in Karachi as part of a security plan for Defence Day.
Sindh Home Secretary Mukhtiar Soomro imposed the ban under Section 144 after the requisite approval from Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah.
The ban will be effective on September 5 and 6.
The Home Department has also already issued a notification for the ban.
Sources said Sindh government had imposed the ban following a recommendation made by law enforcement agencies.
Senior citizens, women, children, journalists and personnel of Law Enforcement Agencies will be exempted from the ban.
