Education and Archaeology Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan said on Saturday a plan had been made under the public-private partnership to preserve the Harappa archaeological site.
He told a meeting at Lahore Museum that the Archaeology Department and the COMSATS Institute would sign an agreement to develop an archaeology site, a research centre, an art and craft bazaar and make arrangements to preserve a temple. He said a committee, headed by Zakat and Ushr Minister Malik Nadeem Kamran, had been set up to look after the Harappa conservation project.
The minister said the UNESCO and the US had offered assistance for preserving the Harappa sites.
