Administrative departments: New appointments in Sindh banned

KARACHI: The Sindh government imposed a ban on fresh appointments on Thursday. According to a notification, the ban will be effective in all administrative departments which fall under the Sindh government’s domain. The notification said that the decision was taken on the Sindh chief minister’s directions. Officials said that the Election Commission of Pakistan wrote a letter to the provincial government asking to stop the transfer and postings of officers, given that local government election’s first phase will start from October 31. Government sources said that not only LG elections, but during a hearing pertaining to fake appointments, the high court also issued directives to stop inductions.
