Evil genius: Kidnappers would lure victims by paying for cattle in isolated spot

SUKKUR: The police have arrested two of three brothers who had come up with a unique way of luring their kidnapping victims. The men would keep moving from one city to the other to evade the police.

They rented houses in one area, where they bought cattle from herders at half the asking price and would tell them to receive the remaining payment at a certain isolated place. When the herder came there, the men would kidnap him and sell him off to the Jatoi or Mahar clans living in kachcha areas.

Luckily, however, two days ago, the police raided a spot within the jurisdiction of the Dubbar police station and arrested two of the brothers, Jinsar Shaikh and Jalal alias Jaloo Shaikh, and found two guns in their possession. Their other brother, Nisar Shaikh, is also wanted by the police and is currently in hiding, said Sukkur DPO Aetzaz Goraya at a press conference on Friday afternoon. The accused are allegedly behind the kidnapping of two persons, Singhar Zardari and Ali Hassan Zardari, belonging to the Memon community from Dumba Goth, Karachi. They also kidnapped two brothers, Atif Ali and Arshad Ali, from Khairpur.

Goraya told the media that the accused men are residents of Baqrani in Larkana district and are allegedly involved in six cases of kidnapping for ransom.

He was wanted by the police in 12 cases of heinous crimes including murder, kidnapping for ransom and police encounters, the DPO added.

The DPO said that the police have also arrested a notorious bandit, Sahib Dino Misrani Jatoi, from Mando Dero and seized arms and ammunition from his possession. According to him, Sahib Dino was involved in six cases of kidnapping for ransom. Besides this, the Sukkur police have also found six stolen motorcycles and arrested some members of a motorcycle-snatching gang.
