The federal government has allocated funds to establish an expo centre in the city.
This was said by Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Fawad Ishaq on Monday during the executive body meeting of the forum in Nathiagali. “The federal government has finally approved our longstanding demand of an expo centre in Peshawar,” said Ishaq.“The cost of the project will be around Rs2.5 billion and under the public sector development programme, the federal government has allocated Rs500 million for the centre.”
The traders asked the federal government to speed up work on the centre so that bilateral trade relations with Central Asian countries can be strengthened.
“It will help in exporting our products and create job opportunities,” said Senator Ilyas Bilour, who is also a member of the businessmen forum. He lauded the federal government for providing funds for the initiative.
