ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) on Monday suspended the verdict of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on allotment of plots to IHC employees. A full bench headed by Chief Justice Jawwad Khawaja announced the verdict after preliminary hearing of arguments by the Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation’s counsel Abdur Rehman Siddiqui. He informed the court that the foundation had allotted plots to IHC employees as per quota but the high court issued contempt of court notice to the foundation on a petition filed by 27 IHC employees for not allotting them plots. In a separate case, the SC rejected a contempt of court petition filed by Sindh Police official Noor Odho claiming the Sindh government, in violation of court order, had promoted junior police officers. However, the court rejected the petition.
