Preserving Heritage: Jinnah museum to be renovated

Jinnah did not reside there but his sister Fatima Jinnah stayed there from 1948 to 1965

KARACHI: Chief secretary Muhammad Siddique Memon emphasised the need to renovate Mohammad Ali Jinnah’s residence and museum, while visiting the location on Friday. He ordered that the museum should be cleaned daily and maintained properly. He was briefed that the building was constructed in 1922 and has been declared a national cultural heritage. Jinnah did not reside there but his sister Fatima Jinnah stayed there from 1948 to 1965. Memon assured the museum staff that he will solve their financial issues and hire more staff. Later, Memon inaugurated the renovated Sindh secretariat’s mosque that now accommodates 550 people.
