What started as a small company has turned into an empire, making the actress one of the wealthiest women in America

In 2011, actress Jessica Alba co-founded The Honest Company, which focuses on supplying non-toxic household products to the market. Now in 2015, what started as a small company has turned into an empire, making  Alba one of the wealthiest women in America.



Jessica's current net worth stands at $340 million, thanks in most part to her 20 per cent stake in The Honest Company. According to The Wall Street Journal, the company is now worth more than $1.7 billion. Over the years it has grown from being an online startup that offered products like diapers and baby wipes, to a household product empire that offers a vast array of options such as dish-washing liquid, baby formula and vitamins.



The Sin City actress is now worth more than singer Beyonce Knowles, who has famously been one of the highest-paid female celebrities and wealthiest women in America. While Beyonce, at $250 million, may be one of the women Jessica beat out in the entertainment world, she has also beat out some high-paid female executives in the corporate world. YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki stands at $300 million, while Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer sits at only $40 million above the actress.



With the way things are going, it seems that The Honest Company has no way to go but up. Maybe soon Jessica will stand at the very top of the list of wealthiest self-made women in America!
