Red carpet round-up: Bright, breezy and easy on the eyes

Dekh Magar Pyaar Say premiered in Lahore with hordes of people coming out to catch a glimpse of the star-studded cast

LAHORE: Dekh Magar Pyaar Say premiered in Lahore on Independence Day with hordes of people coming out to catch a glimpse of the film’s star-studded cast. Most attendees were dressed in green and white to enliven, in contrast with the red-carpet choices made by a few leading ladies of the entertainment industry.

Humaima Malick 



Humaima, who was fashionably late to the premiere, wore a bespoke Chantilly lace sari by HSY. The designer was the lead stylist of DMPS and both Malick and lead actor Sikander Rizvi wore outfits by him. The synergy between the HSY and Humaima was evident in how effortlessly she carried off his grand ensembles in the film and this stunning royal blue sari on the red carpet. To jazz up the plain blue sari, she wore a blouse with a low back, and accessorised with silver earrings and heels.  She left her tresses open to up the pretty and relaxed feel of the look.

Amna Ilyas



The Kaala Dooriyan diva looked not only looked ravishing on the screen but also on the red carpet, where she went traditional in a Nomi Ansari net sari. Amna’s look was simple yet memorable and her choice of a white sari complemented her dusky complexion, making her look every bit the quintessential Eastern beauty she is. She chose Rema accessories, a gold clutch bag and earrings that finished her look to the T. With big hair and minimalist make-up, she accentuated the elegant and traditional look she aimed at achieving.

Ayesha Omar 



Ayesha came from ‘Karachi se Lahore’ to support her beau Sikander Rizvi’s debut film in a floor-length trailing Body Focus dress and a Shehla Chatoor clutch. Her hairdo and accompanying chain headband brought some gypsy glam and variation to the red carpet, in comparison with the other two ladies’ traditional ensembles. In fact, in Humaima’s absence, a few people mistook her for the star of the film. We do, however, feel her look would’ve struck out had she picked between the dress and the headband, as the two didn’t complement each other.
