Punjab's Opposition Leader Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed submits condemnation resolution in assembly's secretariat

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) member and Leader of the Opposition in Punjab Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed submitted a condemnation resolution in the provincial assembly against a suicide attack in Attock that led to the deaths of late home minister Col (retd) Shuja Khanzada and 16 others. 

"Terrorist attacks will not deter the resolve of the nation, which stood united in its fight against terrorism,” the resolution submitted by the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly’s secretariat stated.

It further expressed grief over the deaths and offered condolences to the families of the deceased.

Further, the resolution demanded the government to ensure the complete implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP).

“On behalf of the House, the resolution extends unwavering and unconditional support to the operation against terrorism in the country,” it added.

According to sources, Opposition Leader Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed, along with Deputy Opposition Leader Sibtain Khan and other PTI lawmakers, will visit Attock to extend their condolences with the families of the deceased.

On Sunday, Shuja Khanzada, along with 16 others, was killed in a suicide blast at his political office in Shadi Khan near Attock.

Khanzada, 71, had been holding meetings with local people. He was trapped with several others under the rubble after the blast brought down the roof of the house.
